Overview:

Photography Coordinator

Location: Minneapolis, MN; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Monica, CA

 

HGA is seeking a Photography Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of HGA's firmwide photography program. This role serves as the primary steward of the firm's visual asset strategy, managing a diverse portfolio of photography initiatives that support business development, brand positioning, recruiting, and thought leadership efforts.

 

Working with substantial independence, the Photography Coordinator prioritizes photography investments, manages external vendor partnerships, oversees asset governance practices, and develops scalable workflows that ensure visual content is effectively planned, captured, maintained, and leveraged across the organization. The role collaborates with leaders across Brand & Communications, market sectors, and regional offices to align visual storytelling resources with strategic business objectives.

 

Success in this position requires exceptional project coordination skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for creating organized systems that support impactful visual content.

 

In this role you will:

 

Photography Planning & Production

 

  • Lead the planning and execution of firmwide photography initiatives, managing budgets, vendor relationships, project priorities, stakeholder expectations, and deliverables.
  • Manage annual photography planning, project intake, and prioritization efforts.
  • Evaluate project requests and independently determine priorities based on firmwide needs, opportunities, and budget considerations.
  • Direct on-site photography production activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, brand standards, and stakeholder expectations.

 

Digital Asset Management

 

  • Serve as the firmwide administrator and steward of visual asset management practices within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), ensuring governance, accessibility, and compliance with established standards.
  • Oversee the ingestion, organization, tagging, and quality control of photography, video, and related digital assets to ensure consistency and accessibility across all project archives.
  • Ensure visual content is accurate, searchable, and accessible across the firm.
  • Analyze usage trends and recommend improvements to asset management standards and workflows.

 

Project Operations & Coordination

 

  • Oversee the firmwide headshot program, managing vendor relationships, service quality, and scheduling priorities.
  • Partner with video and other internal teams to align shared production needs.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and workflow tracking systems.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement process enhancements that increase efficiency, quality, and consistency across visual production activities.

 

Budget & Stakeholder Support

 

  • Manage photography program budgets, monitor expenditures, evaluate resource allocation needs, and provide recommendations to support investment decisions.
  • Support photography logistics and coordinate travel, as needed, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams.
  • Contribute to successful project outcomes through proactive problem-solving and organization.

 

What you will need to have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; related field preferred but not required.
  • Typically 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, creative operations, digital asset management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders, schedules, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems; Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time and support occasional extended or multi-day photoshoots.

 

Salary Information:

 

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $75,000 - $83,000 (Mid-West) or $80,000 - $88,000 (West Coast) depending on qualifications and experience.
