In this role you will:

  1. lead interior design efforts on multiple projects from conceptual design through to construction using original insight and strategic thinking;
  2. collaborate with architectural and interior design teams to deliver innovative interior environments across diverse market sectors, including healthcare and workplace environments;
  3. communicate and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, consultants, medical planners and researchers;
  4. develop and manage visioning, design programming, planning, and interior design strategies to meet client goals;
  5. communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle;
  6. mentor junior designers and provide creative direction to foster growth and maintain design excellence;
  7. develop concepts into detailed construction drawings and work with larger team to produce construction documentation and materials specifications; and 
  8. work within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited program
  • 8+ years of professional experience in interior design, preferably across diverse market sectors; Project Management experience is a plus
  • NCIDQ or CID accreditation required
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • interior design concepts, materials, and furnishing requirements – including concepts, practices, standards and principles;
    • thorough understanding of the technical process for large and small-scale interiors projects;
    • building materials, specifications, and construction techniques;
    • applicable codes (city, state, federal); and
    • finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, interior design components for millwork / casework and construction detailing.
  • Experience with space planning, 3D visualization, design detailing, and construction documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and other industry-standard software, plus expertise in Microsoft Office

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $75,000 - $86,300 depending on experience and expertise.
