Lead sector marketing strategy that builds the future of the built environment!

 

HGA is seeking a strategic marketing leader who has proven experience partnering with marketing, communications, and business development teams, as well as sector and practice leaders, in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies. In the role of Director of Sector Marketing, you will serve as a liaison between sector and national marketing teams, facilitating training, collaboration, and idea sharing nationally across project teams.

 

This role will have a direct line of sight over regional marketing planning efforts, serving as a connection point between regional practice groups, the national sector plan, and regional branding efforts. It is expected that you will drive integrated, sector-specific marketing strategies that position HGA as a leader in the industry. In this high-impact role, you’ll work closely with firm-wide leadership, business development, and practice experts to craft compelling campaigns, strengthen our brand, and support strategic growth across our various practice groups and departments.

 

The Director will bring experience in a wide range of marketing disciplines including brand messaging and awareness, communications, content management, social media, digital marketing campaigns, sponsorships, awards, and more, as well as the knowledge of how to implement them in a B2B relationship-based sales environment. Strong expertise in pursuits, RFPs, and client presentations is key, and demonstrated experience in coaching, managing, and cultivating teams is also required.

In this role you will:

Team Management & Collaboration

  • lead a team of sector marketers, ensuring high performance, alignment, and professional development;
  • coordinate with national marketing teams to execute sector strategies effectively;
  • collaborate with marketing, business development, and sector leadership, sharing knowledge and best practices across teams and geographies;
  • identify knowledge gaps and facilitate training initiatives, in partnership with sector leadership;
  • coach, mentor, and guide teammates to develop or level up marketing skill sets as needed; and
  • serve as a role model, coach/mentor sector marketing team on broad range of marketing skills including: branding, marketing campaigns; communications, content management, thought leadership, social media; strategic planning, market/competitive intelligence; and conferences, sponsorships, events.

Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • provide support on strategic marketing plan development tied to national sector goals;
  • act as an advisor to MSLs, providing guidance and direction on marketing efforts, marketing team job performance, and team make-up;
  • advance sector adoption of organization-wide initiatives including - key accounts, client feedback, branding, and marketing technology (CRM, DAM, project management); and
  • serve as a member of the Marketing Leadership Team, participating in planning and development of firmwide marketing strategies, team structure, budget allocations.

 Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • develop and oversee budgets for the marketing group and approves any marketing related expenses/hours charged firm wide in conjunction with the CMO;
  • hold reports accountable for execution of strategic plan as well as collaboration and engagement on national team initiatives;
  • define KPIs and regularly measure the effectiveness of sector marketing efforts;
  • report on marketing performance and ROI to marketing and sector leaders; and
  • conduct performance reviews and regular check-ins with reports.

  • demonstrated experience managing people & processes across a company of comparable scale;
  • comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
  • demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies, using understanding of the strategy, process, and messaging for pursuits, RFPs, and client interviews, and demonstrated collaboration with business development;
  • experience working with technical teams and translating complex systems into clear user value;
  • strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills;
  • skill in written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills and
  • strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing or business development, with at least 5 years focused on the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) or other professional services industry
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint)
  • Working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of AIA, SMPS, or other industry organizations and certifications (e.g., CPSM) is a plus

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $150,000 - 186,100
