In this role you will:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of projects design philosophy, provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively convey this to assigned team members;
  • Provide technical design input. You’re responsible for a project’s technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with the Senior Designer;
  • Mentor emerging and recently licensed professionals within the practice group;
  • As a Senior Project Architect, provide technical/professional oversight of future project architects within the practice group;
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions and develop appropriate research and documents to support these solutions;
  • Actively collaborate with and coordinates work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project;
  • Lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation;
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development, and construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope schedule, cost, and design intent;
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis (Accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.); and
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of professional experience on small-to-large scale project types including: Workplace/Commercial Interiors and Interior Architecture, Core and Shell projects, Adaptive Reuse (multiple program types), Hospitality, and Building Repositioning.
  • Architecture license in California required
  • Current knowledge and use of California Building Codes
  • Experience working with local Building & Safety offices (City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, and other municipalities in the region)
  • Experience with securing entitlements with the municipalities noted above and/or providing architectural support to land use consultants
  • Experience with private clients/developers and public sector/municipality clients
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired
  • Experience with Bluebeam Studio
  • LEED accreditation preferred

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $121,000 - $134,400.
