Overview:

HGA is an award-winning architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity for a project manager with a passion for healthcare work. We are looking for an individual experienced in actively directing project teams, looking to take a lead role in building long-term strategic relationships. This position works from our Santa Monica, CA office advancing HGA’s commitment to innovation and design excellence.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with Principal in evaluation of project requirements and helps to negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee and time schedule;
  • Demonstrate task-focused mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule and budget;
  • Complete projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction;
  • Negotiate critical issues with top-level architects, engineers, and officials of other organizations and firms;
  • Utilize past experience and technical knowledge to monitor quality of construction documents while keeping in mind schedules and budgets, and provides coaching and
  • Communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for work flow and timelines;
  • Develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project and monitors project costs and completion status against budget schedules and timelines;
  • Oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents to ensure accuracy; signs or obtains signatures and seeks legal counsel as appropriate;
  • Coordinate review and evaluation of contractor bids and works with Principal so that award recommendations can be submitted to owner;
  • Provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of, and as delegated by, the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader, keeping lines of communication open with all office
  • Management leaders and assists with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature;
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Leader as requested in the marketing of projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews; and
  • Set an example for team effort through the spirit of cooperation while directing, organizing, and mentoring junior staff.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Inclination to seek Architectural License
  • 7-10 years of professional experience honed on increasingly more complex projects
  • Demonstrated skill in working on multiple smaller-sized, challenging projects simultaneously
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Experience with Lean and Evidence-based design a plus
  • Proficiency in Revit required, experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools is preferred
  • Experience with Project Management software and Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly with team members; ability to interact with clients at all stages of a project from initial client meeting (pre and post interview) through project occupancy
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery which may be multiple, large or complex in scope

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $110,800 - $122,000.
