    HGA has an exciting opportunity for a talented mechanical engineering graduate passionate about building design to work in our Minneapolis office on a variety of projects throughout the country.

     

    Be a part of an award winning, interdisciplinary design firm with architects, engineers, planners, lighting designers, landscape architects, and interior designers working together to create holistic designs for healthcare, the arts, community, education, corporations, government and district/campus energy clients.

    Responsibilities

    1. Works under the guidance of the Project Engineer in the design and documentation of project solutions and construction documents with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and constructability.
    2. Performs mechanical engineering design calculations.
    3. Researches code issues and works with City, State and County officials.
    4. Analyzes reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.  
    5. Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members.
    6. Maintains, organizes and archives all project related documents.
    7. Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
    • Ability to obtain PE registration in the near future
    • A perfect position for new graduates, but one to three years’ experience is preferred
    • Proficiency with Revit software and excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite essential
    • Familiarity with mechanical analysis software (i.e., Trane Trace, IES-VE, manufacturer equipment selection software)
    • Knowledge of current sustainable technologies applicable to mechanical systems design
