  • Overview

    Hammel, Green and Abrahamson Inc., dba HGA, seeks a Design Visualist in our Santa Monica, California office to work closely with a Designer and Project Manager developing non-routine and complex design concepts. 

    Responsibilities

    The specific position responsibilities include:

    *Coordinate with consultants and in-house staff to provide technical solutions and details;

    *Use Revit in a professional setting to design and document as well as work independently creating and manipulating the model;

    *Demonstrate a high degree of technical understanding of the architectural and construction process;

    *Coordinate design tasks, design packages and organize design presentation;

    *Apply innovative thinking, balanced with ability to present real-world technical solutions to new design challenges;

    *Assist and support senior designers; *Actively participate as a member of a collaborative and creative team;

    *Maintain, organize, and archive all project-related documents;

    *Ensure production of deliverables by agreed upon timelines and budgets while reporting to a Project Manager;

    *Make an on-going effort to obtain IOP credits so that architectural registration will be achieved; and *Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The position requires a Master's degree in Architecture or a foreign equivalent degree and at least two years of design experience (must include Mixed-use, commercial, residential, ACE, healthcare, and restoration projects) working with Revit, AutoCAD, 2D and 3D graphics, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, 3DS Max, and Microsoft Office.

     

    The experience must include at least two years of sustainable design, furniture design, city permitting, and research and selection of architectural products, systems, finishes and equipment.

     

    The experience must also include at least two years of taking concept ideas from programs used by team members and delivering renderings, animations, and 3D printed models, as well as assisting with design competition 3D modeling, floor plan/site plan layout, and code analysis for large projects (over 500,000 square feet) that have been built or are currently under construction. Experience may have been gained concurrently.
