    HGA is a leading architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity for a talented, ambitious structural designer with good people skills to join our Milwaukee office.

     

    In this position you will collaborate with and be an integral part of project teams that strive to provide innovative solutions for the unique challenges of each project.  You will serve as a modeling resource for the structural group, using Autodesk Revit to build the structural portion of the 3D building model, produce construction drawings, coordinate with other members of the design team, work with others in the structural group to maintain modeling/drawing standards and serve as a resource/mentor for Revit related technical issues.

    Responsibilities

    1. Must be proficient with Autodesk Revit
    2. Be able to produce construction documents for the structural portion of building projects
    3. Knowledge of structural detailing for steel, concrete, wood and masonry systems
    4. Knowledge of building codes, design & construction standards, and efficient construction techniques for a variety of material types
    5. Excellent planning and organizational skills for our fast-paced environment
    6. Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
    7. Strong communication and collaboration skills
    8. A passion for high quality design
    9. Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
    10. Experience with Bluebeam software is helpful

    Qualifications

    • Serve as the primary Revit resource for the structural group
    • Model the structural portion of a variety of projects, collaborating with other members of the design team
    • Produce construction drawings and details
    • Work with others in the structural group to maintain modeling/drawings standards
    • Serve as a resource/mentor for Revit related technical issues
    • Organized, self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
    • Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles
    • Strong collaborator with the ability to work in a team environment to find the best solutions for each individual project.
    • Collaborate with others in the office and across the company to address structural modeling needs
