    HGA is a leading architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity for a talented, ambitious, Sr. Project Architect to join our Milwaukee office and be a part of our Healthcare practice group.

     

    Works independently as a technical expert, who does not desire full-time project management responsibility, on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager to lead a selected project in a manner that is responsive to the client's needs and deadlines consistent with HGA architectural procedures, standards and quality expectations.  May assist as a technical expert on a complex and detailed phase of a selected project.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develops concepts according to parameters defined by Project Manager.
    2. Provides quality control for the design function and integrates and coordinates all disciplines into the building project.
    3. Maintains ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment. 
    4. Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members.
    5. Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of product, recognizes problem issues, communicates impact to team and seeks clarity when necessary.
    6. Serves as lead technical architect for projects in design, documentation and construction phases and attends all design meetings.
    7. Meets project design schedule and design construction budgets.
    8. Reviews detailed cost estimates and evaluate bids with project manager and prepares analysis including alternates or substitutions to reduce costs.
    9. Responsible for QA/QC/OSHPD processes on various projects.
    10. Develops, on a continuing basis, project standards and project production procedures, to enhance the quality and efficiency of the projects and department’s output.
    11. Coordinates construction documentation preparation and serves as key daily contact with the client.  Assists Project Manager with General Contractor contact as well.
    12. Administers and coordinates project documents with other disciplines and consultants to ensure that a complete construction package is assembled.
    13. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
    14. May require travel to visit a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site where conditions may vary.
    15. When performing work outside of the firm's office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by the firm and/or Client as required.

     

    Qualifications

    • Graduate Architect - Bachelors of Architecture or Masters of Architecture required
    • Registration/Licensure required
    • Minimum 15 years required
    • OSHPD experience/knowledge required
    • Software to include proficient use of: CAD/Revit, and other graphic programs
    • Other software proficiencies may also include: Form Z, 3D Studio
