    We are seeking a senior workplace designer who is passionate about their craft and combines creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts.  You are an integral member of the design team who itches to contribute a point of view and craves participation in conceptual thought process and design exploration.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    The Senior Workplace Designer supports HGA’s mission of creating brilliant design, developing the best people and ensuring a rewarding client experience using a sound business approach.  The ideal candidate is very interested in contributing to the continued growth of the office through the retention of existing clients and the development of new clients.  This person must have experience in all facets of the design and construction process including management of internal and external resources.  He/she will have accountability for each project assignment and serve as the primary contact for one of the largest and most important clients.

    Responsibilities

    1. Collaborates with Architectural and Interior Design teams to develop leading edge, innovative interior design solutions.
    2. Enthusiastically works with clients and design team to interpret and evaluate client requirements for successful project design.
    3. Exhibits a passion for design and innovation and thought leadership regarding workplace strategy.
    4. Researches materials and concepts to advise and support design team on technical issues influencing interior design concept development.
    5. Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members.
    6. Reviews material submittals and conducts on-site observations.
    7. Contributes to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
    8. Participates in new business development activities.

     

    PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

    1. Exceptional interpersonal skills, communicate clearly with team members and clients and have demonstrated the ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery.
    2. Excellent design skills and possesses attention to detail and appreciation for creative and thoughtful design.
    3. Highly creative skills and have 15+ years of architectural/interiors experience preferably in technology and media sectors.
    4. Experience with space planning, programming, interior architecture design development, finish and furniture selections, design detailing, and construction documentation.
    5. Technical skills including 3D visualization and knowledge of modeling programs a plus.
    6. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree from an accredited Interior Architecture or Architecture program required
    • NCIDQ certification or Licensed Architect
    • LEED or WELL certification a plus
    • 15+ years of increasing experience in creative workplace design
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other industry accepted design software tools
    • Proficiency in, Microsoft Office suite products, including MS Word and Excel
    • Prior management, supervision or coaching of departments, team leaders or team members
