    HGA is a leading architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity for a talented, ambitious plumbing designer with good people skills to join its Milwaukee office.

     

    In this position, you will perform plumbing design duties and responsibilities under the direction of the Lead Plumbing Engineer by maintaining a commitment to design and quality consistent with project expectations, responsive to the client's needs and deadlines, and in accordance with HGA’s engineering procedures, standards and quality expectations. 

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

    1. Work under the direction of the Lead Plumbing Engineer to design plumbing systems as well as select and schedule equipment. 
    2. Perform and document design calculations.
    3. Produce design documentation in Revit as well as coordinating with other disciplines.
    4. Research design options and document findings as directed by the Lead Plumbing Engineer.
    5. Assist in editing project plumbing specifications and review of shop drawings.
    6. Organize and maintain project files.
    7. Inform Mechanical Department Leader and Lead Plumbing Engineer of changes in workload and project scope, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment.

    Qualifications

    • Four to ten years of experience in the design of plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare, laboratory or higher education project types, including sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage and domestic water systems, preferred.  
    • Experience with medical gas systems, natural gas/fuel oil systems and fire protection system design is preferred. 
    • Candidate must have experience with Revit MEP.  
    • PE is preferred.  
    • LEED AP and/or being an active member of professional societies (ASHRAE, ASPE, USGBC) is helpful.
    • Due to the collaborative nature of our projects, communication and teamwork skills are essential 
    • Iinitiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision are integral to success.
